The GRID Foam Roller
Foam rollers have become widely used, and with good reason too. They offer you a way to self-treat and help maintain mobility. We advise foam rolling / self release as part of all our injury treatment or performance therapy programs.
The GRID Roller is our favorite. It’s a great piece of kit for helping maintain the work we do in the clinic. Our approach is very heavily focused on self-care and preventative measures. The Grid offers great durability and usability when compared to other rollers on the market.
Fish Oil (Omega 3)
One of the best natural anti-inflammatory nutrients around. Make sure you’re eating oily fish or taking a good quality supplement. Recommended dosages vary, but 3000 mg /day is generally required for reducing inflammation, and we often recommend up to 6000 mg / day. We only recommend using a pharmaceutical grade product.
Widely available. Recommended brands we use are Nordic Naturals and Eskimo. Avoid Cod liver oil, Boots and Holland & Barrett as they tend not to be the same grade.
The Permanent Pain Cure by Ming Chew
This absolute gem of a book has formed part of the Kinect Health System since the beginning. We use the ELDOA stretch system as part of all our health and performance programmes, and the pain, posture, performance and general well-being are amazing!
We advise all our patients to purchase a copy of this book. Packed with useful information, this book contains 28 of the best fascia / ELDOA stretches you will ever find. We can’t rate this book highly enough and following the advice contained within will speed up your treatment, and greatly reduce the likelihood of a repeat episode.
Epsom Salt
Magnesium Sulphate has been used for thousands of years to help relax tight and painful muscles. We recommend 2 cups to be added to a hot bath, soak for twenty minutes and enjoy the relaxing benefits. Great for chronic muscle tightness or post sports / activity.
Gray Cook Band
We use these fantastic specially-designed resistance bands to help retrain and re-pattern motor control dysfunction. They are essential pieces of kit, and we recommend all our patients purchase one. You will be amazed how you can re-train fundamental movement patterns with these. Available in light, medium and heavy resistance.
If you are unable to get hold of a Gray Cooke bank, just pick up a resistance band set from Amazon instead.
We advise most people to go for a medium/red band. However, in some instance you might want to start with a light/purple band. Feel free to contact us if you want help deciding.
